Partful are searching for a talented and highly strategic Head of Finance who experience of working in a SaaS start-up. This is a standalone role as our Head of Finance so an excellent opportunity to truly make it your own. Although the role involves overseeing external accountants who run some of our finance functions you will have full ownership of the rest. As you'll have worked in a start-up previously, you will know that sometimes you need to wear multiple hats which will give you the opportunity to take on some significant responsibilities and learn a wide range of skills as you go. We are a close-knit team at Partful, you will be a key member of our SMT and, partnering with our CEO and heads of department will enable you to build strong working relationships within a fast paced environment. In this highly visible role you will have the opportunity to work autonomously, we are always open to new ideas and encourage innovation and creativity.


You will work closely with our CEO and act as a trusted advisor and business partner to our SMT and board members. We're looking for someone who can think quickly, commercially assess situations and act with technical skill whilst having an excellent mix of soft skills. You will be an excellent communicator, who is credible and highly strategic and have experience preparing budgets, quarterly forecasts and long range financial planning.


The role also entails:

Strategic & Financial Planning

  • Full ownership of operational budget including working closely with business departments to set the budget in line with growth projections and frequent reporting on progress against this with variance analysis commentary.
  • Oversee external accountants with key financial submissions including R&D tax credits.
  • Financial modelling and scenario planning as required for long term and short term projections of the business.
  • Act as the lead on projects such as margin analysis and make recommendations where appropriate.
  • Strategic input into SaaS pricing strategy supported by other key members of the SMT
  • As a member of the SMT, participate in key strategic decision making

Reporting

  • Lead on preparation of quarterly board pack consisting of strategic reporting and insights from all key functions.
  • Responsible for month end financial close, preparation of monthly management accounts with supplementary commentary.
  • Review monthly Management Accounts, cost analysis, profit margin reports and sales analysis.
  • Monitor financial performance using KPI's and providing insights for the SMT and external Board.
  • Prepare and maintain the company financial plan, including P&L and cashflow forecasting in detail.
  • Laser focus on cashflow management to be able to advise Founders when to start the fund-raising process if necessary.
  • Maintain company KPI’s and key SaaS metrics, monitoring company performance vs these and flag when ratios slip.

Business Partnering

  • Act as a financial business partner to department leads across the company.
  • Present finance data to non-financial staff of all levels

Board Relations

  • Attend monthly board meetings with our CEO and produce/present the monthly finance board pack.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and business partner to the company co-founders, board members and leadership team

About you

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Excellent communicator, extremely personable with a strategic mentality
  • Proven business partnering and leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • High level of organisation and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Applicants with experience of working for a SaaS start-up would be highly advantageous
