The beginning of 2024 saw VCCP Media undergo a significant change in leadership. James Shoreland (CEO) and Will Parrish (CSO) joined after 6 years at Initiative Media together. They are looking to replicate their success at Initiative at VCCP Media.


In the short time they have been here, they have worked with the agency to win bigger and bigger domestic business as well as strategy assignments in other markets and other parts of the VCCP Group. They have done this by identifying how to connect VCCP Media’s specialists (SEO, AV, paid social and PPC) to strategy, planning and indeed creative. We have a strong pitch narrative and a clear set of services.

The challenge is now managing the new demand for VCCP Media without losing focus of the plan to change the industry by being revered for its work. As the agency grows we need to iterate the services we offer. We are connecting clients to all the VCCP Group provides while leveraging the exciting opportunities for advertisers in the media landscape and beyond.

This is about more than just increasing work capacity. This is about bringing to life the energy and passion we have for integration and ensuring our clients can see one of our core beliefs come to life - it only works if it all works. We must evolve in that direction to avoid becoming just another beige media agency.

Changing the media agency world like this is never going to be in addition to someone's day job. It is THE job. As such we are creating a new role.

The Head of Data and Technology will focus on exciting VCCP talent and clients about what can be done with the right data and technology. It will be at the forefront of changing people's perceptions about what a ‘media’ agency can do while creating incremental growth for both VCCP Media and the VCCP Group. Its work will transform how we operate and how we think about the integration of creative and media.


The Role: What we are looking for:

A strategic practitioner.

Someone who can join the agency, set up and evolve how we use data and technology while building a reputation with the VCCP talent and clients for collaboration, creativity, and high-quality work.

VCCP Media’s current business strategy is one of growth - through new business and new capabilities. We will win by creating a clear set of services that we can sell to new and existing clients and relentlessly confidently championing creativity.


To achieve this we need to focus our efforts on building relationships in the VCCP Group and beyond to ensure we capture every opportunity first


The reality is that over the last couple of years, VCCP Media has lost the clarity, confidence, and creativity needed to fulfil this. This year is a year we are focused on changing ourselves to get there, but we need a more distinctive approach to data and technology


Reporting to the Managing Director, you will partner with the Chief Planning Officer. Together you will connect with the Chief Strategy Officer and the key leaders of the VCCP Group entities to connect creative, media, data, and technology.

Above all, it’s the role that will be at the forefront of our strategy to change the industry by being revered for its work.

  • Irrefutable lead across every aspect of an opportunity, leading and driving activity forward at all times
  • Comfortable leading conversations or having solo conversations with C-suite clients and colleagues
  • Flex to support the wider agency/team as required.
  • Continuously Identify new opportunities and assume leadership of a new product or partnership opportunity, running the process from start to finish

Spread the VCCP Media capabilities story across the organisation and the industry

  • Know the VCCP creds and the VCCP Media story inside out, so that you can represent the agency in a new business/credentials meeting - whether with a prospective new client or an area of VCCP Group at any time
