About the role

The General Manager will work within the management team to manage the overall performance and operational excellence of the Active Spaces Programme within a prestigious corporate environment.

You will be responsible for leading a team of experienced fitness professionals to a drive positive team culture and deliver a premium customer service and wellbeing proposition to its members.

Ensuring operational excellence throughout all processes to ensure a smooth and efficient running of the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Operational strategy and governance.
  • Health and Safety implementation and governance.
  • Membership and booking management.
  • Client reporting, presentations, and contract governance.
  • Recruitment, development and a broad range of HR functions and processes.
  • Lead a culture of learning and development for the onsite team.
  • Relentlessly drive on-going improvements and innovation

About you:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong people skills and thrive in a social environment, building strong relationships with members, staff and stakeholders.
  • Solid background in operations understanding the complexities of managing a busy gym environment and excelling in maintaining efficient processes, ensuring smooth daily operations and driving continuous improvements.
  • Highly driven and motivated with a proactive attitude to deliver a high performance culture
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Passion for health and wellness to deliver premium services to our members to achieve their fitness goals
  • Commitment to high performance of themselves and of their team

Education and Qualifications

  • Degree Level Educated

Experience

  • Strong fitness background within the commercial or corporate sector
  • Experience in delivering operational excellence and team engagement
  • Proven track record of achieving targets

Skills

  • Good level of leadership and people management
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of the role including advanced IT skills
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with team, members and stakeholders
