Job Title: General ManagerLocation: DurhamReporting to: Managing DirectorSalary: Competitive, based on experienceHours: 38 hours per weekMonday to Thursday: 7:45 AM - 4:30 PMFriday: 7:45 AM - 12:45 PMAbout the Role:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our Durham facility.

This role requires a proactive and hands-on leader who can provide effective management and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:Provide effective leadership to the Durham management team.

Always guarantee a safe and compliant work environment.

Consistently drive monthly sales output versus targets.

Ensure all job roles are clearly understood with relevant performance metrics and accountability.

Maximize and maintain production efficiency through effective use of resources and adjusting manufacturing methodologies where appropriate.

Engage with the workforce to maximize employee performance and support development and training plans.

Maintain regular communication with the Managing Director on all relevant aspects of the business and operations.

Develop practical, comprehensive, and sustainable improvement ideas.

Key Skills and Experience:Essential:Apprentice trained, time-served engineer with hands-on manufacturing experience with an ever-changing product portfolio.

Experience in an AS9100 or similar quality environment.

Proven track record of site management in a similar role with demonstrable positive performance metrics.

Technical machining and quality knowledge using various manufacturing methods and materials.

Detailed knowledge and understanding of OHSE in the workplace.

Successful implementation of positive change management projects.

Desirable:Experience with MRP systems.

Six Sigma Qualification.

Customer liaison skills.

Experience leading continuous improvement strategies and implementing process improvements.
