GENERAL FOREMAN – ENVIRONMENT

SEVERN TRENT REGION

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a General Foreman to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business.

Ideally, you will based in or around the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

You will work on our Severn Trent Water Frameworks within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes. 

As a General Foreman you will ensure works are executed safely, within programme and to the highest quality standards.

You will:

  • Have day to day management of site-based construction works.
  • Be responsible for effective coordination of resources working on the project.
  • Ensure temporary and permanent works are delivered in accordance with the design.
  • Carefully plan material and plant requirements to meet programme and financial targets.
  • Assist in planning and programming with site engineering teams.
  • Participate in site discipline meetings to aid effective coordination and delivery of the works.
  • Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Permit to Work systems are in place before work commences.
  • Effectively liaise and communicate with site teams and subcontractors.
  • Undertake site inductions with all subcontractors, including toolbox talks and -minute briefings.
  • Ensure subcontractors deliver work to meet safety, quality and programme requirements.
  • Ensure subcontractors are conforming to their own check sheets.
  • Record and update site diaries.
  • About You:

    Competency Requirements:

  • Able to communicate effectively with site team and subcontractors.
  • Experience of executing construction work in line with ITP’s, quality standards and safety documentation.
  • Confident in delivering safety briefings and toolbox talks.
  • Able to read and interpret design drawings.
  • Proven leadership capability.
  • Good customer liaison skills.
  • Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures.
  • Technical / Professional Qualifications Required:

  • Relevant experience. 
  • SMSTS.
  • Relevant CSCS card.
  • Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages.
  • TWS.
  • First Aid (Desirable).
  • Qualification in a relevant discipline (Desirable).
  • You will also be able to demonstrate the following key attributes.
