Floating Support Worker in Skewen

Are you the kind of person who can connect and understand young people? What about those who have been through homelessness? Do you have access to a vehicle? What about your experience of tenancy related support? We are looking for two community based Floating Support Worker for the Neath Port Talbot area.1 x full time 35 hour position and one part time 17.5 hour position available.What will you do? Complete assessment of support needs for young people experiencing homelessness.Carry out risk assessments. Get young people involved in agreeing and recording support needs.Ensure meaningful use of time for all parties. Co-ordinate support as the Key-Worker and youth support worker. Liaise with other support providers and partner organisations. Help young people get involved in volunteering, training, education and other activities.Provide tenancy support and advice. Travel the area to meet with young people living independently. What will you get? 35 hour work week for full time. Or a 17.5 hour part time role with flexible hours. Permanent contract as a Youth Support Worker. 9.30am to 5pm - Monday to Friday.Salary of £22,732 per year - equivalent to £12.49 per hour (Pro-rata for part time). Someone with experience of working with young people with support needs.Knowledge of tenancy support.Experience of supporting with those who have experienced homelessness.Access to your own vehicle for travelling the area.A willingness to assist with the on-call rota.Good understanding of trauma informed practice and supporting those who have been through trauma.Someone with a caring, compassionate nature.Resilience in the face of a challenge.Someone who knows the Neath Port Talbot area would be a big plus!
