Barrington James are excited to be working with our client recruiting a Financial Controller. The Controller will lead and oversee the financial operations for the UK, EU, and Bosnia entities. This pivotal role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with US GAAP, efficient audit processes, and the optimization of financial practices. The Controller will provide strategic financial insights and leadership, driving financial performance and supporting the company's business strategies at a senior level.


Responsibilities:


- Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and profitability.

- Provide strategic recommendations to the executive team based on financial analysis and projections.

- Drive financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.

- Oversee and manage the accounting functions for the UK, EU, and Bosnia entities, ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.

- Ensure accurate and timely full-cycle revenue and margin accounting processes and reporting.

- Oversee all general ledger activities, including balance sheet and P&L accruals.

- Coordinate and manage statutory audits for the UK entity, transitioning to full in-house management.

- Ensure adherence to US GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.

- Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

- Prepare, review, and present financial statements and reports to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.

- Conduct financial analysis and generate insights to inform business decisions and strategies.

- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

- Ensure effective talent development and succession planning within the finance team.

- Promote collaboration and effective communication within the finance team and across the organization.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with business objectives.

- Provide financial insights and support to various departments to drive overall business performance.


Qualifications:


- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.

- Chartered Accountant (UK CPA) required.

- Extensive experience in financial management, including full-cycle revenue and margin accounting.

- Proven track record of managing statutory audits and ensuring compliance with US GAAP.

- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, including balance sheet and P&L accruals.

- Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- High attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on mentoring and developing talent.


Preferred Qualifications:


- Experience working with multinational entities and managing financial operations across different regions.

- Familiarity with accounting regulations and practices within the EU and Bosnia.

- Prior experience in a senior managerial or controller role within the accounting function.
