Purpose of Role

The Finance Centre is Grosvenor’s UK centre of excellence for financial operations. Within this framework, the Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring the general ledgers of the Group Team, UK Urban Property and Diversified Property Investments businesses are well-maintained and provide a solid foundation from which the Finance Centre can report to its stakeholders.

More broadly, the role of the Accounting Manager is to ensure that key areas of accounting are performed with diligence and consistency, while ensuring that the financial control environment around the general ledgers remains robust. The role is expected to work closely with the UK Reporting Manager to ensure that high quality accounts are produced at the year-end and that high-quality financial information is available to the Finance Centre’s stakeholders throughout the year both within the holding company accounts for which the Accounting Manager is ultimately responsible, and on the property company accounts for which the UK Reporting Manager is responsible.

To support these goals, the role has four direct reports, one of which is a qualified accountant. A key requirement of the role is to train and develop these individuals with the dual aims of creating a high-performing team and facilitating great career opportunities. The successful candidate will demonstrate true passion for the development and nurturing of junior talent, with an understanding of agile training techniques.

This role provides an opportunity for a diligent and innovative finance leader to establish and improve processes which support the Finance Centre’s mission statement of being a genuine centre of excellence for financial operations at Grosvenor.

The Accounting Manager is expected to take a leading role in instilling the Finance Centre’s culture of continuous improvement. This will be achieved through constantly looking for and implementing innovative ways to deliver efficiencies so that the team’s focus is on value-add activities, working closely with the Head of Financial Control and Operational Finance teams to achieve this.
