The role

Warrington Borough Council is an innovative and exciting place to work. The Corporate Finance Team have a full time, permanent vacancy for a Finance Manager to lead the Strategic Corporate Finance Team based in the Corporate Services Directorate.

We are looking for a Finance Manager to lead our successful Strategic Finance Team of experienced accountants. The role will be responsible for supporting the development of the Council’s Medium Term Financial Plan, leading on the Closure of Accounts process and taxation and technical finance issues.

The role reports directly to the Head of Corporate Finance and supports the strategic financial strategy of the entire Council.

You will be responsible for ensuring the Council maintains high standards of financial compliance and probity, supporting both our internal and external stakeholders across a range of financial matters. The role works closely with senior officers, partners, elected members and place based colleagues and you need to be confident engaging across a wide range of stakeholders. The role offers excellent career development opportunities.
