Apply NowWe have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Finance Manager on a permanent basis in Rochdale. This position will report into the Commercial Manager and is a brilliant opportunity for someone to become part of the finance team!
Shift Pattern
5 days Monday - Friday
Hybrid working - 3 days on site
Salary
Up to £55,000 dependant on experience
Duties and responsibilities:
· Reporting to the Commercial Manager
· Day to day financial control for the Finance department’s
· Lead the annual budgets and forecasts for both Wincanton and the customer from causal to presentation pack preparation.
· Ensure all GDPR policies are adhered to.
· Develop budget and flex mechanisms to drive performance and enhanced understanding of the operational cost drivers.
· Embed meaningful management information reporting.
· Develop reporting Into PBC for both Financial and non financial data.
· Ensure both customer and Wincanton weekly and period reporting is on time and accurate.
· Build a rapport, develop trust with the customer and colleagues.
· Ensure confidentiality protecting the client and the business.
· Ensures relevant financial policies are applied, financial records are accurate, budgets and forecasts accurately completed regarding underlying operating assumptions.
· Lead, develop and motivate the Finance officers/Assistant Account driving their development.
· Support the management team providing regular information relating to performance and budgets.
· Support Commercial Manager with Adhoc requests and contract wide reporting when necessary.
· Being accountable and can articulate all the accruals and prepayments on the balance sheet.
· Support their finance team to balance the monthly ledgers and ensure all risks and opportunities are flagged to commercial manager.
· Prepare/Present weekly customer pack with aid of Commercial Manager
· Work with Credit control to ensure invoicing is accurate and timely & chase debt appropriately.
· Drive accurate and timely dataflow from the operation.
Person specification
Experience, skills and attributes:
· A fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
· The successful candidate will have positive personality with a can do attitude, a questioning mind who is happy to challenge back the operation & senior management team when reviewing costs to find the right answer
· Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able lead from the front making decisions and providing guidance to the team, plus flexible to the needs of the business during key reporting periods
· Sound budgeting and ledger knowledge
· Demonstrate drive, energy and a commitment to the CI of overall contract performance
· Be proactive, inquisitive with a passion for challenging teams to drive performance
· Be able to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards
· Must be flexible and appropriately responsive to internal and external customer requests
· Excellent customer relationship skills with the ability to develop good working relationships at all levels
· Have excellent PC skills and be able to understand and harness IT and systems to benefit the operation
· Be able to demonstrate previous transport or other relevant experience
