Role Description

Reporting to the COO, you’ll work closely with the wider Beams team, including the CEO, CMO, designers, architects, planners, product managers and engineers, to create an

efficient and value additive finance function.


Your responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day finance operations including bookkeeping, supplier payments, contractor payments, statutory accounts, VAT and payroll
  • Managing financial data, including our financial model
  • Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries. Act as the first point of contact for external auditors and accounting firms.
  • Supporting the team in the budgeting and forecasting process. Leading analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and making recommendations to the leadership team
  • Continually identify risks and financial process improvements propose solutions where necessary and effectively drive change
  • Dealing with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts.
  • Working closely with the leadership team on any fundraising process or other investor relations
  • Helping the COO with various HR processes including managing equity awards to the team
  • Build commercial analysis for assessing business performance and project profitability


Qualifications

  • You are a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT), with 2+ years of post-qualification experience
  • Experience working in a startup, scale-up or other high growth company
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to think fast
  • You’re an expert in Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Experience with accounting software, in particular Xero
  • You’re able to challenge teams on existing processes and provide innovative solutions to enhance efficiency
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards tackling challenges
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate within a team environment
  • A personal interest in sustainability and creating a greener environment is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Experience in the home renovation or construction industry is a plus
