Finance Manager
- 5 days Full Time (4 days considered for right candidate)
- Salary around £45,000 (based on previous experience)
- Based in central Edinburgh office (hybrid working week – 2 office days currently)
A design-led, central Edinburgh brand seeks an experienced, senior Finance Manager to join their talented and highly collaborative team and lead the finance function through the next phase of company growth.
Busy B stationery is carefully designed with thoughtful ideas and gorgeous details to help busy women be the most they can be. With sales of £3m via high street multiples such as John Lewis and Waterstones, BusyB.co.uk and Amazon, the company is looking for someone special to join their Senior leadership team and play a key role in shaping the company’s future success.
The position requires a highly organised individual with a commercial mindset who enjoys working as part of a team in a busy environment. The candidate should be from a financial background with 2+ years of management experience. Excellent attention to detail, a can-do approach and strong interpersonal skills are important.
The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Strategy and forward planning - budgeting and forecasting
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- VAT Returns (knowledge of EU VAT returns would be beneficial)
- NetSuite (Operating System) Administrator – training, trouble shooting
- Development of Netsuite financial reporting and improving processes
- Managing cash flow, overdraft and all bank accounts (key contact for bank)
- Managing and supporting finance assistant
- Annual year end accounts preparation (liaising with company Accountants)
- Supporting the IT function - key contact for external IT company
- Office management support – utilities, maintenance, insurances, asset register
- Review monthly payroll reports
- Analysis of monthly financial performance
- Collaborate with and build relationships with wider team
- Key member of senior leadership team, working on growth strategy and financial planning
Key Skills & Attributes required;
- Excellent numeracy and analytical skills
- Qualified accountant / Qualified by experience
- Ability to continually improve the performance of the finance function
- Oracle NetSuite experience would be an advantage, but not essential
- Organised, commercially minded and able to multi task
- Collaborative, approachable and friendly, with good interpersonal skills, enjoys working as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Can take ownership and is level headed
- Pro-active self starter and problem solver
- Ability to lead development projects
- Proven Management experience an advantage
- Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Excel
- Experience of working with product stock
This role reports to the Managing Director. You will have one direct report – the Finance Assistant.
