In this role you will report to the Finance Director and be responsible for all aspects of Management Accounting, Financial Control and supporting leadership with financial information.

Your role will be to play a role in managing the Finance team and working to improve systems, processes and ways of working to be more efficient.

You will ensure that the Finance Director is supported with key information to achieve positive financial outcomes for the business.

This is a predominantly office based role in South Fife.

This is a small business and you will therefore have a very broad remit and we are looking for a fully-Qualified Accountant holding a CA, ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent membership with experience gained in financial operations, external reporting and internal management accounting.

You will have excellent experience but the most important thing will be your people skills.

You must have the ability to build relationships and manage staff.

Your role will include:

Leadership: You will have a small team to manage and be responsible for setting goals, appraisals and of helping to mentor their development. You will play an important role in the day-to-day management of the business.

Management Accounting: journal posting, financial reporting and general ledger accounting to support forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis and performance management.

External Reporting: You will play a key role supporting HMRC returns, VAT returns, annual accounts and other statutory returns working with the Finance Director.

Financial Operations: All aspects of recording sales, purchase ledger and credit control activities will fall within your team.

Systems, processes and ways of working: part of your role is to support systems and process development to find improvements to ways of working.

We are looking for someone with a broad range of capabilities, the following experience and qualifications will be important.

Be a fully qualified accountant holding an ACA, ACCA, CA, CIMA or equivalent membership with broad experience gained in a small to medium scale environment.

Previous staff management experience and a background in supporting leadership through various financial and accounting duties.

A change mindset where you will understand and develop existing processes, train staff on changes and support business initiatives for improvement.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to operate at all levels within the business. You will be used to dealing with a variety of people from different backgrounds.

Pro-active, efficient, reliable and professionally curious. You are the sort of person who thrives on finding opportunities to improve and develop the finance function.
