Field Service Engineer in Reading

Our client has been manufacturing and supplying specialist equipment into since the 1950’s. Due to continued growth they now have a fantastic opportunity for a Service Engineer to join their team, primarily working with our clients pathology & laboratory industry customers.As the new service engineer, you will ideally be based in or around the Reading/ Portsmouth/ Bristol area to cover the South of England, you should be prepared to work alone and away from home several nights a week and may be required to cover other areas as per the business’ requirements.A leased transit type vehicle will be provided for the engineer, as well as company workwear, mobile phones and many more benefits.Primarily reporting to the Service Manager, the right candidate will join a team of 4 field engineers strategically located throughout the country.Field Service Engineer Required Skills: the right candidate will be physically fit, active and have the following desired skills and experience: * NVQ or C & G electrical qualification (ideally Level 3 / 18th Edition) * Minimum of 2 years’ experience within the maintenance field preferable * Excellent face to face customer service skills * Valid Driving Licence * Must be able to prove eligibility to work in the UK (Company NOT participating in current VISA schemes) * Availability to work away from home several nights per week (cost of accommodation covered by the company) * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Highly proficient in spoken and written English * Sound mechanical knowledge to service electrical and mechanical equipment * Confident in the use of mobile apps (product specific training provided)What you can expect to achieve: * Leased transit type vehicle (renewed approx. every 3 years) for exclusive use and associated fuel card. * All necessary tools can be provided. * Company iPhone for work and personal use (within the limits of the plan) * Company uniform and appropriate workwear/PPE provided. * Overnight accommodation provided (Premier Inn card issued at commencement of employment) * Meals and additional work-related expenses included (within the limits of our Expenses Policy) * In-house product specific training provided. * Ongoing opportunities to gain further qualifications relevant to the employee's role. * Access to an exclusive app that offers discounts to high street brands and shops (e.g., weekly free coffee), an online workout and wellness platform, and an employee assistance programme. * Company events (e.g., Christmas Party) * 20 days of paid annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing every year by one additional day up to a maximum of 25 days) (please note that a small number of days out of the annual allowance will be automatically allocated to a companywide Christmas Shut Down) * Company Pension SchemeWe invite suitably experienced candidates to apply by following the appropriate links or by contacting Recruit 2 You directly who are acting as an employment agency for this hire.At Recruit 2 You Ltd your right to privacy is important to us.
