The College is now looking for a Fabric Technician, whose main responsibilities include maintaining the fabric of the buildings and performing day-to-day planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and small projects.

This position requires a diverse skill set, including competencies in joinery, building maintenance, small installations (e.

g.

, kitchens), wet trades, tiling/sealing, hard landscaping, painting, and more.

A high level of productivity, a good pace, and a strong work ethic are essential.

The role will necessitate availability for weekend and evening work as required, with advance notice, compensated through overtime or time off in lieu.

Excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach are crucial, as is the ability to work independently and use initiative.

High-quality workmanship and attention to detail are key, whether working on routine maintenance tasks or small projects and applying high standards and pride in the quality of work undertaken.

Adhering to good health and safety practices, working safely, and maintaining a clean and safe site are essential.

Additionally, the position requires physical fitness and agility, as it involves manual handling and working at height across a multi-building estate with limited access to lifts.

The ideal candidate should have a relevant trade or craft qualification in a building-related discipline, with experience in performing general building repairs and maintenance operations to a high standard.

You must have experience carrying out building maintenance operations in commercial workspaces and customer-facing environments.

Good technical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to conduct research, work independently, and plan work activities.

Experience using a wide range of power tools, hand tools, and equipment across various activities is required.

The College is offering a salary of £34,000 per annum, 25 days annual leave, additional two days at Christmas and a daily free meal when working on site.
