Environmental Advisor in Bedford

About The RoleMorrison Energy services is currently looking to recruit an Environmental Advisor to work on our National Gas Asset Health framework. This role will be based across a large area with initial projects spanning from Chelmsford, across to the West Midlands, so travel will be required. The role will provide Environmental support to our operational teams, who work across various frameworks delivering project for our clients. As a Environmental Advisor, you will be a key part of our SHEQ team who provide expert advice, assistance and guidance with regards to the management of health, safety and environmental issues. As a Environmental Advisor your duties & responsibilities will be:Assist and advise the operational and management team to further develop the management systems and operational practicesSupport, review and aid the population of construction phase plans, environmental plans, review contractors RAMSAdvise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. risk assessments, risk management, fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational healthAssist with the development of SHE management systemsLiaison with external bodies including the Health and Safety Executive, Clients and other stakeholders as directed by the SHE ManagerSupport incident management & investigation processProduce toolbox talks, team talks and appropriate SHE training materials about health and safety issues and risks.Monitor trade contractors via site inspection and management auditAct as a role model at all times in support of the MES Gas construction visions, priorities and valuesSkills & Knowledge Requirements:Consistently demonstrate high standards of safety behaviour, leading by example and promoting safety culturePrevious experience as a Safety Advisor in a construction environment (Utilities experience desirable)Knowledge and experience of Temporary Works managementAbility to influence at all levelsAbility to manage potential conflict during site inspections with operational teamsCapable of delivering confident articulate presentationsProficient in the use of all Microsoft Office - Word, Powerpoint, ExcelNEBOSH General or ConstructionNRSWA qualification and Utility SHEA Gas Passport is desirableFull driving licence and willingness to travel is essentialKnowledge of SCO91 is preferable but not essentialWhat’s in it for you?25 days' annual leave plus 8 days' bank holidayPension schemeLife AssurancePrivate health care                                   Company car and fuel card #MorrisonEnergyServices #LI-BS1 #LI-OnsiteAbout The CompanyM Group Services delivers a range of essential infrastructure services within the water, energy, transport and telecommunications sectors in the UK & Ireland.
