Fire, Health and Safety Business Partner

Hounslow

£64,000 + Bonus and Benefits.

Carbon60 is working with one of our longstanding clients to find a Fire, Health & Safety Business partner play a crucial role in seeking out and implementing strategic initiatives, providing in-depth direction and support in delivering a deeper level of fire, health and safety advice to the Programme Managers and Senior Project Managers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing three direct reports, ensuring their day to day and long-term objectives are in line with the overall strategy.

What are we looking for?

  • Safety professional with strong experience gained within a broad range of functions such as construction, transport, engineering etc.
  • National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent)
  • Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH)
  • National Certificate in Fire Safety (or equivalent) would be an advantage
  • Understanding of project management processes.
  • Good communication skills and stakeholder management

What will you be doing?

  • Work with Fire, Health, Safety & Wellbeing team to ensure company standards are developed, delivered and adopted by Infrastructure Solutions where required.
  • Prioritise the teams site visit schedule by understanding the project complexities and risk by build relationships with strategic stakeholders.
  • Lead incident investigations in a collaborative way that enables root cause to be determined and the learning shared across functions.
  • Lead collaborative working between Infrastructure Solutions and other departments (e.g. Engineering, Operations) to ensure that more complex safety issues are managed appropriately.
  • Lead on developing assurance plans for your reports to implement
  • Develop and lead Safety Improvement Plans.
  • Develop others through coaching and mentoring.
  • Develop, maintain and improve your own Fire, Health and Safety competencies.
  • Devise campaigns that ensure Infrastructure Solutions report close calls and incidents.
  • Ensure, where necessary, incidents are loaded and retrievable and ensure the First Alert process is managed correctly.
  • Liaise with the Health and Safety Executive and other Regulators if required.
