Job Description

As the Engineering Stores Controller, you will be responsible for managing the engineering stores and ensuring the availability of spare parts and materials essential for the smooth running of the plant.

You will maintain stock levels, ensure inventory accuracy, and work closely with the engineering and production teams to minimize downtime and optimize operational efficiency.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing all purchasing requests for production consumables and liaising with Engineers / Engineering Team Leaders about parts needed.
  • Timely and cost-effective ordering of parts.
  • Ensure suppliers send correct parts and correct placement of parts in the store.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure parts are on site on promised delivery time, ensuring invoices are correctly processed in Holistech in a timely fashion.
  • Booking in all completed delivered orders on the systems through Holistech and coordinating with purchase ledger to meet all booking in requirements.
  • Responsible for Stores control and improvements – Maintaining adequate stock levels, operation of all systems, optimising the space and ensuring that the stores service to the factory is of the highest standard
  • Ensure store is kept organised and clean, enforcing world class standards across the department.
  • Working in conjunction with the Maintenance manager and Site Services Lead to review critical spares and EOQs.
  • Drive a culture of searching for the best quality materials at the best possible price.
  • Create and maintain good relationships with key suppliers.
  • Work with Engineering team to create and facilitate the use of kitting lists for a proactive maintenance approach.
  • Explore and promote the use of reverse Engineering techniques to create a wider database of suppliers, creating better: lead time, cost and quality.


Qualifications

  • Knowledge of engineering, machine parts and ordering systems.
  • Preferable to have worked in and successfully delivered a full ‘bottom-up build’ stores system and department.
  • Experience in working with suppliers to reverse Engineer obsolete parts.
  • Strong computer Skills – Excel / Word.
  • Experienced with Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) – Holistech preferable

Salary - £32,000 per annum

Hours - Full-time, Monday to Friday
