About the role

Balfour Beatty is currently recruiting an Engineering Manager to join our Power T&D team, UK wide.

The main function of the role is to lead and manage Engineering Delivery Teams in the delivery of all design and engineering requirements for schemes from identification of opportunities to completion of construction.

Engineering Managers are expected to lead positive engagement with internal and external stakeholders to manage the scope, risks and programme for the project.

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, passionate individual who has an interest in engineering and project management.

We are open to both full time and part time candidates (including job share), and offer a flexible working policy.

What you'll be doing

As an Engineering Manager, your role will be to;

  • Work collaboratively with the engineering and design delivery managers to ensure that your portfolio of projects are delivered on time, budget and specification to the highest quality and safety standards.
  • Coordinating with all the functions within Balfour Beatty, with an emphasis on providing the right engineering solutions both from a technical and value engineering perspective.
  • Working with the technical team to ensure resource capability and availability for their project following successful handover and throughout the Project Delivery. Manage delivery of the Design & Engineering project scope of works.
  • Identify and manage D&E project risks, implementing the necessary mitigations.
  • Lead the Design Engineers and interfaces with other parties, through effective communication.
  • Ensure adherence to Governance processes, the Gated Lifecycle and Right First Time.
  • Who we're looking for

  • Degree level education in relevant discipline.
  • Experience Leading Engineering teams, in the delivery of design and build construction or installation projects.
  • Background in Design, Project, Programme or Construction Management.
  • Familiarity with the Power Industry is beneficial but not essential.
