Engineering Manager - Steel Industry


Location: Newport


Salary: £45, per annum & Bonus Scheme


Working Hours: Full Time, 39 hours per week (shifts: Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm, Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm)


Our client, a leading steel company based in Newport, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join their dynamic team. If you have a proven track record in leading maintenance teams and a strong understanding of industry compliance, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.


Responsibilities include:



  • Developing a clear strategy to improve onsite engineering services that support world-class manufacturing methods.

  • Designing clear and sustainable policies and procedures for the business and the team to operate by.

  • Benchmarking activities with other leading manufacturers.

  • Introducing systematic control methods to increase efficiency.

  • Changing behaviours within the function to provide a world-class service.

  • Developing expertise in onsite equipment.

  • Defining necessary maintenance activities that will impact manufacturing performance.

  • Liaising with other managers across the organisation to ensure integration of process recommendations and alignment with corporate objectives.

  • Managing specific projects and undertaking project activity.

  • Evaluating project results and providing recommendations for resource, procedure, system, or technology changes.

  • Ensuring the implementation of projects for expanding and modifying production lines.


    • Requirements:



  • Experience leading a maintenance team in a machinery background and precision tolerances.

  • Hands on Engineering experience

  • Strong people management and time management skills.

  • Knowledge of SAP-based reporting systems.

  • Data-driven decision-making abilities.
