Do you have experience in hardware and firmware design? Our client, a leading manufacturer in the field of lighting systems, is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join their innovative team. They specialise in LED technology for military environments. With projects ranging from land to sea and air, this is a unique opportunity to make a real impact! Duties and Responsibilities:Design hardware and firmware for LED lighting systems, as well as data capture products and specialist electronic componentsCollaborate with dedicated software engineers on new design projects and provide support to existing production and other areas of the companyCarry out detailed electronic circuit design, including simulation and design verification testingUtilise Altium Designer software for PCB layoutSelect suitable parts, taking obsolescence, availability, and cost into considerationCreate designs that incorporate electronic control of the electrical, optical, and thermal performance of LED lighting systemsPrepare and present electronic designs to the design team and project stakeholders at design reviewsDocument design work, prepare reports, and ensure that design files and information are stored according to company proceduresAssist the Electronic Design Team Leader in recording and reporting design progress to the project and management teamsStay up-to-date with the latest technology through ongoing training and development Qualifications and Experience:Degree in Electronic Engineering or a similar subjectMinimum of 5 years of hardware design experience within a relevant industryStrong knowledge of analogue and digital design, including microprocessors/microcontrollers, programmable logic, embedded firmware/software, SMPS design, and PCB designExperience with design for EMC and some knowledge of design for military/avionics applications, including EMI/EMC specificationsProficiency in schematic, PCB design, and simulation using Altium Designer or a similar softwareFirmware development skills in CSkilled in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookExcellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills Perks of the Role:Enjoy a 4-day workweek, with the possibility of working Monday to Thursday from 7am to 16.45pm or Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pmOwn car required due to location (travel occasionally required)Opportunity to work with a talented and supportive teamBe part of a company that values professionalism, personal growth, and work-life balance Don't miss this chance to join a thriving organisation at the forefront of their industry!
