Based at Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes

At FCDO Services (formerly known as FCO Services), we provide secure construction, digital and logistics services to all sorts of government-level customers, including the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. Our projects are both vital and wide-ranging: everything from rewiring a centuries-old embassy to building secure communication sites overseas.

That’s why, as one of our electricians, the installations you’ll be involved with will just mean more. They’ll help protect the UK’s interests around the world. They’ll be geographically and technically diverse. And, above all, they’ll keep people, assets and information safe.

Use your electrical expertise to lead teams into the future

This role offers a truly global platform for your technical and leadership skills. Working across the UK and in overseas missions worldwide, you’ll tackle everything from designing and planning electrical works to installing lighting, power and security systems. This will see you leading and advising teams working on new builds, refurbishments, upgrades and maintenance projects. You’ll also help us prepare for future projects, by carrying out surveys and supporting the design process. Plus, as this is a role with international reach, you may spend up to 22 weeks each year on assignments overseas.

Apply your wealth of experience to handle any situation

With an IET-recognised qualification to BTEC (ONC)/AM2, working knowledge of BS 7671: 2008, and a broad base of electrical installation experience, you’re the expert we need. You’re a natural leader with the ability to deliver projects and keep teams on track, and you hold a valid ECS card. You’ll also help us to uphold our customer promise: to be reliable, responsive and build relationships – all things that will come easily to you. Ideally, you’ve worked with systems such as fire alarms, air conditioning, lighting and security in secure settings before. It would also be an advantage if you have experience of operating overseas in different environments.

Stretch your abilities and perform at an international standard

Our customers look to us to respond with speed, agility and innovation to their ever-changing security challenges. So we’ll expect a lot from you – but we’ll give you plenty in return too. We’ll support you all the way, making sure you’re able to progress your career and realise your ambitions. You’ll also enjoy brilliant job security and benefits, including a Civil Service pension. Then just think of the variety in your day to day, because the importance and sheer diversity of our work will present you with some unique challenges. Finally, there’s that sense of purpose – using your skills to maintain a business that helps protect people, information and assets all around the world. In short, it’s your job, bigger.

All our employees have to be security cleared before being appointed, so you’ll need to undergo a vetting process as part of your application. This role requires you to go through Developed Vetting (DV) You can find out more about vetting on our website.
