The Diversity and Inclusion Team within the Human Resources Department, work proactively within the University community to embed diversity and inclusion practices. The team provide both planned and bespoke equality and diversity advice and is responsible for the robust infrastructure of diversity networks which exist across the University and ongoing liaison with John Moores Student Union (JMSU). The team also organise a series of events, workshops and conferences for raising awareness of equality and diversity to ensure that a culture that embraces diversity is embedded throughout the University.

We are now looking for a talented Diversity and Inclusion Manager to join the team to provide strategic support and expertise to the University community and other stakeholders in delivering the University’s Diversity and Inclusion ambitions and driving culture change. A key aspect of this role is managing and supporting the University's application for external Charter Marks accreditations, such as the Advance HE Race Equality Silver Award, Athena Swan (Gender Equality) Awards (the University currently holds the Silver Award), and other accreditations that showcase our commitment and success in promoting inclusive practices. 

The post holder will collaborate with Faculties and Professional Services Associate Deans for Diversity and Inclusion to develop and implement action plans, fostering a culture that values diversity and social inclusion.

You will have practical experience in D&I report writing, D&I data analysis, developing and implementing D&I strategies, projects, policies, and workshops, along with a comprehensive understanding of relevant regulations, including employment and equality legislation. You will also be expected to effectively develop Diversity and Inclusion priorities and implement an associated action plan that fosters a culture of inclusivity.
