An exciting opportunity has become available at Wellhouse Housing Association for a Director who will work with the Management Committee and staff team to lead the association and ensure the continuation of a high quality service to tenants.

In 1990, a tenants’ steering group was set up to seek the transfer of 335 homes from Glasgow City Council to community ownership.

Their success led to the creation of Wellhouse Housing Association, registered as a social landlord in 1994.

A second successful stock transfer from Glasgow Housing Association in 2010 resulted in all the social rented homes in Wellhouse being owned by the housing association.

The association has worked hard to transform the local area and build new homes.

We now own 798 good quality rented homes and factor a further 52 on behalf of other owners.

We are a financially strong, well governed community-controlled association with an ambitious Business Plan in place.

We are now looking for an outstanding candidate to move us to our next stage of organisational development, including reinvestment in our stock, environmental improvements and our ambitions for land purchase and development of new social housing.

As our new Director you will be an experienced housing professional and senior manager with full knowledge of social housing in Scotland’s regulatory framework.

You will be experienced in working closely with a governing body and will understand the current challenges facing communities like ours.

You will be an inspirational leader for our staff team, including our 3 senior managers, and the community of Wellhouse.

In return, we offer a pleasant working environment and excellent terms and conditions of employment, including a generous defined contribution pension scheme.

If this is the role for you, then please obtain a recruitment pack from our Recruitment Consultants, EVH, by selecting the s1jobs apply button.

Closing Date: 10am on Thursday 4th July 2024.

Interviews will thereafter be conducted on Thursday 15th August 2024 and if you are invited to a second interview this will take place on Wednesday 21st August 2024.
