To support the growth and Digital transformation, our UK & Ireland IT Services function is recruiting a new Digital Product Manager of Corporate & B2B Websites to lead the continuous improvement and service delivery of established corporate websites and custom B2B trading platforms for our Distribution Centres. This role will be based in our Birmingham offices, we operate a hybrid working policy.

Role Overview

The Digital Product Manager (Corporate & B2B Websites) will play a fundamental role in ensuring that the organisation's corporate websites and custom B2B eCommerce web applications meet the expectation of both internal and external customers.

Responsible for a team of Business and Technical Analysts, you will oversee requirements gathering, analysis and the documentation of multiple projects from various stakeholders. The Digital Product Manager will work closely with organisational representatives, encouraging and upholding a collaborative approach to manage and deliver the Product improvement & rationalisation roadmap.

You should have experience working on Digital Assets which are responsible for representing a company’s brand or corporate identity. Ideally, you should also have product or project experience with transactional eCommerce sites and be capable of managing change activity to improve a customer’s experience. You must be comfortable managing 3rd parties and have experience of co-ordinating stakeholder expectations by adapting update detail or communication style based on your target audience.

This role requires a balance of delivering stakeholder requirements with your team and being able to manage and delegate a variety of tasks through to completion, ensuring all output meets the requirements of the business by taking ownership and accountability of the final product quality.

To be successful with the role, you must be invested and engaged with the asset portfolio, understanding key functionality and being able to discuss technical aspects to lead round table troubleshooting discussions. You must be willing and capable of getting into the technical detail and supporting your team where necessary, especially with system debugging and quality control initiatives. The assets within this product portfolio are aligned to the LAMP technology stack, and the candidate is expected to be familiar with these modules to enable service delivery improvements. For example, you must be comfortable writing mySQL queries for adhoc reports or analysing system data.

The role is primarily hybrid, however some travel to our Birmingham offices will be required as part of project & team reviews so it is recommended you are within reasonable travel distance of that area.

Duties & Responsibilities include:



  • Team Leadership
  • Making sure team members and dependants are completing tasks to an agreed time and quality via daily stand ups and focus sessions, supporting where necessary.
  • Conducting team member reviews and identifying development opportunities.
  • Service Delivery
  • Managing service level KPIs for system uptimes and service requests relating to your product portfolio.
  • Ensuring bugs or faults are seen through to remediation.
  • Responding to system incidents our outages and actively contributing to or leading troubleshooting discussions.
  • Partner Management
  • Act as a communications conduit between the business and the development partners that support the assets.
  • Complete weekly and monthly partner reviews, focused to service and change delivery.
  • Working with Account Managers to improve levels of service and output.
  • Product Management
  • Capture requirements through interviews and document analysis to create high level business process descriptions.
  • Create documentation, including user stories, use cases, UI mock-ups, UML diagrams, process flows and support literature.
  • Identify areas of improvement within product portfolio, either to rationalisation duplication or gain cost/system efficiencies.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Define UAT modules in line with agreed development requirements.
  • Manage and agree project expectations with the business.
  • Contribute towards the project effort estimation process.

  • Ability to analyse high level business requirements and translate them into system development and implementation documents.
  • Adaptive, capable of conforming to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Capable of interpreting the communication styles of business system users and other project team members.
  • Strong operational and leadership capabilities with the ability to lead, motivate, and challenge colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills with demonstrable problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, accurate and thorough, focusing on the delivery of high-quality documentation within prescribed deadlines.
  • Experience with tools such as MS Project, Visio, Lucid Charts.
  • Experience with LAMP technology (Linux, Apache, mySQL & PHP).
  • Writing mySQL queries to produce adhoc reports or analyse system data.
  • Strong and recent Business Analysis experience and skills.
  • Background in managing and influencing third party agencies.
  • Experience of working in a collaborative, team-orientated, Agile development environment.
