Position - Graduate/Junior Design Engineer

Location - Ormskirk

Torque Consulting are currently working with a global leader in glass manufacturing, who operate across three key business areas: Architectural, Automotive, and Technical Glass.

The Role

A vacancy has arisen for a HUD Design Specialist within our Auto OE Europe business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the feasibility assessment and technical development of the conventional HUD system from the early concept phase to SOP.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assessing the glass for conventional and AR HUD feasibility.
• Leading and assessing the conventional HUD feasibility models in the RFQ phase.
• Supporting the development of HUD systems and leading technical discussions with customers.
• Coordinating and providing continuous technical support to all stakeholders.
• Preparing the HUD optical design and defining the HUD control system specification.

What Are We Looking For?

You and Your Skills:

• An engineering or related technical discipline is required.
• Proven experience with 3D analysis CAD Software
• Autonomous, innovative, and self-motivated attitude with a strong determination to meet objectives.
• Flexibility in work role, hours, and location.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to escalate problems when necessary.
• Knowledge of the automotive product development process.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid solutions.
• Capability to deal with internal and external stakeholders at a functional/operational level for technical solutions.
• Availability to travel to customers, suppliers, and company plants.
