**Position Overview**

Are you passionate about data engineering and have experience in the commodity trading space? We are seeking a Data Engineer with a strong background in developing and maintaining data warehouses, ETL pipelines, and data lakes. This is an intermediate to senior-level role where you will design, implement, and optimise data solutions to support our trading operations.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehouses.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design scalable data solutions.

- Implement data quality checks and ensure data integrity.

- Optimise data processing and storage for performance and cost-effectiveness.

- Design and implement data governance policies and procedures.

- Provide support and troubleshooting for data-related issues.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and scripting.

- Experience with AWS services such as S3 and Glue.

- Familiarity with Kafka for real-time data streaming.

- Experience with PySpark, Apache Beam, and Airflow.

- Proficiency in SQL and experience with SQL Server, Redshift, and MongoDB.

- Experience with BI reporting tools such as Tableau, Qlik Sense, and Power BI.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

**Desired Skills**

- Knowledge of Java 11+ for developing custom data applications.

- Familiarity with additional data technologies and frameworks.

- Experience in the commodity trading or financial services industry.

- Understanding of data governance principles and practices.

**Education and Experience**

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.

- Experience with commodity trading systems is a plus.
