Data Engineer - Commodities Prop Shop - Up to £140k + Bonus
An established commodities prop shop, systematic and discretionary (almost solely oil), is looking to further expand its team.
Looking to add a pure Data Engineer, building data/ETL pipelines from the ground up in Python, and deploying them on AWS.
Relatively early-stage but well-established, the original backing comes from a family office in Dubai that made their millions during the '70s oil boom, so they've had routes in oil trading since then.
Durlston Partners has recently helped with hiring a new CTO and CRO for their global team, which is a good indicator that they're serious about this next phase of growth.
They have big plans to expand out of pure commodities and into new asset classes, as well as moving towards HFT.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design, develop and maintain scalable, efficient and reliable data processing workflows to ingest, clean, transform and analyse large volumes of data.
- Design, develop and maintain data management services and infrastructure to support data discovery, analytics and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with other teams to identify and fulfil data requirements for commodity analysis and trading strategies.
