Principal Cyber Security Analyst | Initial 6 Month Contract | Inside IR35 | Bristol | Up to £750 Per Day

Experis have partnered with a public sector client to recruit for a Principal Cyber Security Analyst in the Somerset/Bristol area. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and leading the technical controls required to ensure our client is protected against risk from cyber-attacks.

This role requires candidates to have active/transferrable SC Clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help define the strategic roadmap for IT Security working closely with the Head of Information Security.
  • Minimise disruption to the business by helping define the operational digital forensics strategy and approach to evidence capture in line with legal guidelines.
  • Monitor, triage and investigate security alerts on protective monitoring platforms to identify security incidents.
  • Review high-priority or high-complexity analysis of security event data to manage security incident response.
  • Conduct multi-team assessments of IT and Cyber resilience throughout an IT estate, reviewing regular security reports.
  • Share best practice by heling guide and direct others in the team, actively encouraging up-skilling and development in other areas of security.
  • Oversee the planning, testing, and response to security and emergency incidents. Provide recommendations on these issues to stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Manage triaging of vulnerabilities, making sure mitigation measures are properly implemented and oversee the life cycle of vulnerability management.

Key Experience Required:

  • Solid understanding of the principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of Information security in complex business environments.
  • Previous experience in IT Security Operations and security monitoring (including cloud-based platforms Azure and AWS).
  • Design and implementation of SIEM and network analysis tools, techniques and procedures to detect malicious activity.
  • Expertise in Vulnerability Management across large and complex technology estates.
  • Experience in digital forensics.
  • Previous experience in a leadership/management role in Cyber Security.
