The urgency of our mission is highlighted by concerning statistics: 97% of young women have experienced groping in public spaces, and incidents of physical violence on our streets are increasing. In the wake of events like the Manchester Arena bombing, the need for improved security in large venues has never been more pressing.

Our company has conducted extensive voice-of-the-customer research and established strong relationships with government bodies, local authorities, the night-time economy, and large-scale venues. We have developed comprehensive process maps and need a Developer CTO to bring this vision to fruition.

Role overview:

Safe N Social are seeking a visionary and highly skilled Founding CTO/Developer to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role requires a technical leader with a passion for safety and security innovation, who can drive the development of our technology from concept to scale. As the Founding CTO, you will have a unique opportunity to shape the technological direction of our company, build a world-class development team, and create products that make a tangible difference in people's lives. This role is initially offered on a sweat equity basis, becoming part of the founding group with significant influence over the future of the company.

Technology, strategy, and vision

1. Develop and execute the company's technology strategy aligned with our mission to enhance safety in social spaces.
2. Stay ahead of technological advancements and integrate cutting-edge solutions to maintain a competitive edge.

Product development

1. Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of scalable and secure software solutions, including the app and backend architecture.
2. Oversee the end-to-end development process, from concept through to deployment and maintenance.

Team building and leadership

1. In time, recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing development team.
2. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the tech team.

Collaboration and communication

1. Work closely with other founders, stakeholders, and customers to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into the development process.
2. Ensure clear and effective communication of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Security and compliance

1. Implement robust security measures to protect user data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
2. Stay informed about the latest security threats and best practices.

Qualifications

1. Proven experience as a Senior Developer, and readiness to step into a leadership role in a tech start-up or innovative tech environment.
2. Strong expertise in mobile and web application development, including proficiency in relevant programming languages and frameworks.
3. Experience with cloud infrastructure and backend systems, ensuring scalability and reliability.
4. Demonstrated ability to build and lead a development team.
5. Passion for creating technology solutions that enhance public safety and security.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
