Consultant Building Surveyor – Salary circa £60.000

This is a great job for someone who is an experienced buildings expert with great analytical skills who loves detail and has a great understanding of inflationary measures across insurance building repairs. We’re looking for professionals who are qualified as a Building or Quantity Surveyor and have an in-depth knowledge of assessing and building repair and/or construction scopes. A bit about the job:

The purpose of this role will be to manage Aviva’s Schedule of Rates, based on inflationary factors and ensure that Aviva’s rates remain contemporary and reflective of local and international market conditions and supply disruptions. Analytical skills and producing cost data reports will be a large part of the role and as an ‘expert’ in the buildings technical knowledge you will be a go to authority for technical assessment and recommendations on building repair claims and costing data.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Degree level of equivalent in Building Surveying and/or Quantity Surveying (ideally MRICS or CIOB or ACostE accreditations)
  • Strong Knowledge and experience of costing within the building/insurance industry, scoping property repairs and familiar with schedules of rates
  • Good understanding of factors that influence inflation within the building industry
  • Experience in balancing cost and good customer outcomes
  • Understanding and familiarity of technology used in the insurance industry for scoping
