Computational Geneticist in Slough

A highly rewarding role awaits a motivated and creative computational geneticist seeking an excellent career progression opportunity. You will be joining a leading biopharmaceutical organisation, dedicated to improving our understanding of the molecular mechanisms that drive disease!

The Computational Genetics team are a small dynamic team utilising cutting-edge analytics to answer a diverse range of complex questions. As a key member of the team you will be responsible for supporting the company’s complete R&D programme from developing analytical pipelines, to applying advanced statistic models to complex datasets, as well as presenting to stakeholders across the organisation. This opportunity will allow you to step up and take ownership of projects.

Essential requirements:

• PhD in Biology/Bioinformatics/Computer Science
• Expert knowledge of statistical concepts and applications (specifically statistical genetics) is a must
• Experience programming in R or Python in a Linux/HPC environment
• Ability to work well independently and deliver to deadlines
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills
• Great team player having previously worked in multi-disciplinary teams

Desirable skills:

• Experience in integrating data from other sources (multi-omics data)
• Experience in machine learning and AI
