Chief Financial Officer – PE backed SaaS business

Stanton House has been retained by a Private Equity backed SaaS business to appoint a Chief Financial Officer. Having received strong PE investment, the business is now looking for a Chief Financial Officer to help accelerate growth and work towards a successful exit process.

As the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a crucial role in developing the business strategy and be a key member of both the board and leadership team. This position involves overseeing financial operations, developing effective financial strategies, managing budgets, and providing financial insight and analysis to drive the company forward.

Required experience includes;

• Experienced CFO that has previously operated within a Private Equity backed Scaleup that has experienced significant growth.
• In-depth experience developing a finance function that can deliver the core fundamentals required within a high growth private equity backed firm.
• Experience leading a business through an exit process.
• Significant experience within a SaaS/ technology focused business and core understanding of contracts, pricing, utilisation & margin.
• Excellent investor relations, fundraising, M&A and exit experience.
• Strategic thinker with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to drive financial performance and operational efficiencies in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
• Ability to forecast accuracy, ensuring the board and leadership team have a clear view on current and future financial performance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership and external partner.
• Team Leadership and Development: Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team.

Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to;

• Developing a best-in-class finance team covering all the key areas of strategic planning, FP&A, BI, management reporting, tax, treasury, compliance and risk.
• Play a key role in driving the top & bottom-line target numbers.
• Board facing role, so it is essential to be able to own and communicate the financial performance of the business.
• Co-pilot to the CEO, supporting and challenging in areas of strategic planning, capital allocation, M&A, expansion plans, business cases, scenario planning and exit readiness.
• Developing the relevant metrics / KPI to support data driven strategic decisions.
• Leading the company’s financial strategy, planning, and analysis to support business growth and profitability.
• Managing relationships with private equity partners, banks, auditors, and other stakeholders.
• Developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
• Leading M&A activities, including identification of targets, due diligence, negotiation, and integration.
• Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO, Investors and Board of Directors based on financial analysis and projections.
