Drayton has partnered with one of the UK’s most successful entrepreneurs, Richard Harpin, to secure a CEO for an exciting new venture that will redefine the Home Improvement industry.

This innovative retail concept, inspired by the likes of Home Depot in the US and infused with elements from home improvement shows, will introduce a unique retail experience featuring a curated selection of the UK’s leading home improvement brands.

With significant future plans for both national and international coverage, the ultimate ambition is to establish a £1bn+ retail park.

This opportunity is a genuinely rare chance to take responsibility of a business from inception and drive it forward to become a key player in the retail park sector.

In addition, the CEO will be able to personally share in the future value creation.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be an experienced retail executive with a proven track record of driving consistent financial performance in complex, scaled organisations.
• Possess an infectious entrepreneurial spirit and be able to evidence past successes of individual business pursuits.
• Be proactive and have a hands-on approach.
• Have a minimum of 5 years leading a business through sustained, rapid growth.
• Skilled in hiring and growing a team, transitioning from hands-on roles to strategic leadership.
• Have extensive experience in building challenger brands or disruptor propositions, ideally within the Home Improvements space.
• Have demonstrated career progression and success within a well-respected Retail business.
• Have demonstrable expertise within property: Experienced with property development, including managing brownfield and greenfield development, and negotiating out-of-town retail leases.
• Have worked in a comparable business environment with an excellent track record in overseeing ambitious growth targets in fast-paced and creative retail environments.
• Have high emotional intelligence, mental acuity, resilience, and the ability to influence and lead through strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanour.
• Be an inclusive leader, unafraid to make prompt, clear decisions, especially involving risk. Highly accountable, takes the initiative, works independently, and generates activity. home improvement
