This role does not offer sponsorship.As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Catering Assistant  to join our close-knit team at Baston House School located in Bromley.About the roleThe purpose of this job is to assist the Kitchen Manager to prepare and serve school meals. There is also an element of interaction with students to encourage a happy and healthy school lunchtime. This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.Responsibilities Assist with the preparation, cooking, and serving meals, considering and special dietary needsTo assist with the clearing up and cleaning of the kitchen equipment, kitchen area and dining hallFood preparation, cooking and service to pupils and staffEnsure all health & safety and food hygiene regulations are maintained within the kitchen environment Ensuring a good standard of cleanliness is maintained Ensuring adequate food supplies Reporting problems raised, any cancellations or extra meals needed and maintaining recordsTo assist in the lunchtime supervision of pupils to ensure that service of food is completed on time in a safe and hygienic settingReport behaviour observations to a teacher for them to maintain the school’s standard of discipline and behaviour Qualifications RequiredRelevant Catering and Hospitality qualifications - i.e., City & Guilds or NVQ qualifications Food Safety Certificate level 2About The SchoolBaston House is an independent day specialist provider of education and care for young people and adults aged 5 to 19 years who have been diagnosed with Autism (ASC).Baston House School ensures that our school environment supports learning and promotes the well-being of pupils and staff through a strong sense of community cohesion.
