Job Description:
Our client, a well-established law firm, is seeking a skilled Defendant Catastrophic Injury Solicitor to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in defending complex catastrophic injury claims on behalf of insurers and other defendants. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of defendant catastrophic injury claims, including but not limited to spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, severe burns, and amputations.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into the circumstances surrounding each claim, gathering evidence and documentation to support the defence strategy.
  • Work closely with insurance clients and other defendants to develop effective defence strategies and achieve favourable outcomes.
  • Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and witness statements, with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings, advocating vigorously for their interests.
  • Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and legal developments in the field of catastrophic injury litigation.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Solicitor with an interest in defendant catastrophic injury claims and some experience in working on claimant or defendant personal injury or clinical negligence files.
  • Strong understanding of personal injury law, including relevant statutes, case law, and procedural rules.
  • Excellent litigation skills, with the ability to effectively advocate for clients in negotiations and court proceedings.
  • Proven track record of successfully defending complex injury claims.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
