Role Snapshot

Superglass are a manufacturer of mineral glass wool thermal and acoustic insulation. We currently have an opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our organization with head office based in the heart of Stirling. This role is home/ field-based covering Midlands -Southwest England territory. The role requires a Business Development Manager to build strong, valuable relationships with our existing customers at every opportunity and use their sales skills to persuade & influence – handling objections, closing sales, and delivering results. Seeking out new customers to include all end users of our products, Architects, Specifiers, Contractors, Distributors & Merchants to develop and grow sales across the whole Superglass product portfolio within a defined region and in-line with the company strategy. 


Key responsibilities specific to the role

• Deliver growth in key metrics defined by the company within the region by taking responsibility for the identification of all customers/potential customers, markets, and product applications within area of ownerships, Initiating, developing and managing sales activities within the geographical area to support business objectives. 
• Responsible for Demand Generation, Specification and Propositions to customers to grow sales across the whole Superglass product portfolio.
• Deliver quality customer communication and frequent engagement through monthly call cycles, training sessions and deliver of CPD presentations. 
• Accountable for sales conversion to order as a result of proactive response to customer contact, enquiries and specifications.
• Responsible for feeding back marketing information concerning competition, customers etc. with respect to project specifications, pricing, distribution & delivery.
• Responsible for providing to customers professional technical advice and support, services, site surveys & training to improve market share. 
• Accountable for delivery of results required by the business plan/strategy. 
• Collaborate effectively with industry partners & colleagues to deliver detailed project tracking.
• Performing tasks assigned by management & providing regular reports by agreed deadlines.
• Main customer interface for order intake, processing, and logistics
• Maintain order accuracy and ensure orders are entered within timeframe. 
• Work with the customer and internal Departments in relation to payments

About you

What we need from you

The ideal candidate for this role in Insulation sales should have a proven track record within the building industry. They should be highly skilled in dealing with end-users and supply chain partners, demonstrating a keen commercial awareness. The candidate must be able to provide tangible evidence of their sector knowledge and adeptness in building strong relationships at every level. A collaborative approach to the sales process is essential, and the ability to work as part of a close-knit team is crucial. The candidate should be capable of executing a regional business plan and show a thorough understanding of each step in an effective sales process. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and ambitious individual to make a significant impact in the construction sales sector.

Experience and qualifications

A minimum of 3 years of sector-specific experience is required, along with formal Sales or Technical training.
