WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

We are looking for a well-connected Business Development Director to generate new business opportunities in live events and brand experience .

The role requires someone who is pure play brand experience, who has a great black book and can hold decision maker client relationships.

•Leading on experiential and live events business development opportunities into new brands, clients and sectors

•Nurture new clients into longer term relationships

•Lead on pitch opportunities with support from the experiential project management team

•Work with the senior management team on experiential and live events business strategy, client reviews and commercial reporting

•Creation, management and conversation of the new business pipeline

•Active use of Commercial tracker to provide continuous information flow on all client activity

•Qualifying external new business opportunities and recommending agency resources to convert

•Responsibility for the prospecting and engagement of potential clients including outbound contact

•Management of any external new business suppliers, if required

•To develop a complete understanding of core and prospective client needs (and challenges), both current and future

•To take ultimate responsibility for ‘hunting’ revenue generation to new/prospective clients and as required for existing clients

•To sell experiential strategic, creative and production propositions as developed by Wass Live and its group companies and marketing team

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED

•Professional attitude with a proven track record of new business development and client servicing within the Experiential and Live Events sector

•A track record of bringing in briefs, holding relevant client relationships, winning pitches

•A new business leader, who is not afraid to take a hands-on approach to support a growing team

•A strategic and charismatic seller, able to engage senior client stakeholders, understand their problems and suggest experiential solutions

•Entrepreneurial outlook to experiential, be able to translate the benefits of experiential marketing to prospective clients

•Energetic and passionate about experiential and events and the possibilities within the sector

•In touch with current trends and interested in future trends.

•Pioneering – Being constantly curious, taking risks to succeed, passionate about thought leadership

•Ambitious – Going the extra mile, eyes on the prize, rapid and ruthless focus

•Excellent communication and presentation skills

•Drive and enthusiasm to promote Wass Live and win new business

•A great team player and effective communicator

•A problem-solver

•An experienced multi-tasker who can juggle multiple briefs, projects and tasks

•An understanding of the experience journey from pre, during and post live activations

•An understanding of digital and social media and how they can be used to support and amplify experiential concepts

•Down to earth (no egos need apply)

The Business Development Director role is primarily Orpington based (with some flexibility for hybrid working), however, it may require some national travel in pursuit of engaging and winning new clients.
