Assistant Quantity Surveyor in London

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic client on a freelance basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the commercial management of a highways maintenance contract. You will work closely with commercial managers and senior quantity surveyors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.Key Responsibilities:·Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports. ·Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with contract specifications. ·Prepare and submit interim and final valuations, variations, and claims. ·Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor quotations and manage subcontractor payments. ·Assist in the preparation of tender documents and procurement strategies. ·Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to ensure cost-effective project delivery. ·Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure timely reporting. ·Support in resolving any commercial or contractual issues that may arise.Requirements:·Proven experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within the Highways sector. ·Strong understanding of highways maintenance contracts and related processes. ·Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and tools. ·Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. ·Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure. ·Effective communication and interpersonal skills. ·Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related field   For more information please click APPLY NOW or call Harvey Barlow on (phone number removed).   FOOTNOTE: If you feel that you are right for this role technically, but the rate, location or seniority does not suit you specifically then please still feel free to send us your CV.
