Assistant Accountant in Poole

CMA is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join the finance team of our Poole, Dorset based client, an engineering company.

What will the Assistant Accountant role involve?

Manage and maintain purchase and sales ledgers, including occasional invoicing; Process payroll and handle HR-related tasks; Post and reconcile bank transactions; Oversee petty cash and Amex transactions; Prepare and file monthly VAT and CIS returns; Post and reconcile journals and inter-company accounts; Generate and analyse financial reports; Conduct monthly reconciliations of control accounts and assist with year-end reports; Provide support for various administrative functions as needed.

Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant vacancy: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines; High attention to detail and accuracy; Proactive, forward-thinking and able to anticipate needs; Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
