Accounts Assistant - Part-Time in London

Accounts Assistant - Part-Time - 22.5 hrs per week

Salary: £32k - £36k pro-rata

Location: Southgate, London

3 days a week - Hybrid

My client is an exciting SME within the publishing and book distribution industry, that is looking for an account assistant to join their finance team on a part time basis to manage the transactional needs of the business.

Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment processing, and reconciliation of vendor accounts, across multiple entities.
• Prepare and maintain financial records, including journals, ledgers, and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Supporting senior management with expense claims
• Assist with VAT returns, month-end and year-end close procedures, including preparation of accruals, prepayments, and adjusting journal entries.
• Assist with payroll processing, including calculation of employee hours, preparation of payroll reports, and coordination with external payroll providers.
• Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding financial transactions and account balances.

Requirements

• 3+ years previous experience of working in a finance environment in a similar role
• Experience of sales and purchase ledger
• Team player
• Keen eye for detail
