Job Description

Based within Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership you will work full time, 37 hours per week, part time or job share may be considered. Where the successful candidate is a current employee of a local authority, the post will be offered under the terms and conditions of Dundee City Council. Where the successful candidate is a current employee of an NHS employer the post will be offered under the terms and conditions of NHS Tayside. In the event that the successful candidate is not currently employed by a local authority or NHS employer, they will be given the choice of who will be the appropriate employer. An excellent opportunity has arisen for a high calibre Accountant to provide professional financial advice and support to Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership which is a partnership between Dundee City Council and NHS Tayside, providing community-based health and social care services for the citizens of Dundee. The successful candidate will work across NHS Tayside and Dundee City Council systems to provide management accounting services to local integrated health and social care services with a combined budget of around £330m. Requirements

You will be CCAB Qualified Accountant, or working towards a relevant professional accountancy qualification.

Responsibilities

In accordance with standards laid down via the Chief Finance Officer, participate and assist in the provision of day to day operational financial support and advice to Dundee Health & Social Care Partnership. Assist in the collection, maintenance and interpretation of information required for the development financial advice and analysis to be submitted to Dundee Integration Joint Board.

The Individual

You will be closely involved in providing financial support to managers as they continue to develop and enhance operational and strategic plans to meet the evolving needs of our population. The role also supports the Partnership’s finance team with monthly and annual financial reporting making the role both varied and an exciting learning opportunity. You will have experience in a relevant management accounting role and understanding of revenue budget process with knowledge of final accounts process. You will have a strong analytical skills, a proactive approach, creative, the ability to manage change and to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders are essential qualities. You will have the adaptable to change and ability to work quickly and accurately to meet tight deadlines. A Standard Disclosure Scotland check is required.
