JOB TITLE - ACCOUNT MANAGER

LEVEL - ENTRY - MID-LEVEL

SALARY - £25K - £30K

Key purpose of role

  • To drive revenue across all areas of the business, including print, digital, and events, ensuring all personal revenue targets are achieved.
  • Deliver sales messages effectively to all clients, managing relationships with integrity, consistency, and care.
  • To collaborate with and support all areas of our business to drive revenue and profitability and meet client needs.
  • To be an ambassador and advocate for Taylist Media and all its products externally, to the highest professional standards.
  • Ensure the highest sector profile of Taylist Media and its products within the KBB marketplace.
  • Communicate sales and commercial stories based on an exemplary understanding of individual client’s business and needs, whether this be written, verbal, face to face or via presentations.
  • Maximise accuracy and minimise errors within the day to day running of client portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • To source, continually develop and maintain strong, professional and valuable proactive relationships with all clients within individual portfolio.
  • Proactively own and manage day to day relationship with clients within individual portfolio.
  • To be always an ambassador and advocate for Taylist Media and all its products externally, to the highest professional standards in pursuit of maximum revenue.
  • Monitor your clients spend year on year- look to achieve an uplift every year and understand full impact of market share considerations.
  • Develop and retain revenue-influencing relationships with customers, both existing and new.
  • Attend all relevant external events and client meetings which may be out of hours, overnight or abroad.
  • Fluent and up to date relevant product knowledge across all Taylist platforms – keeping abreast of industry news, especially with your clients and their competitors.
  • To work closely and effectively with all Taylist Media internal departments to always foster understanding and collaboration in pursuit of commercial objectives and demonstrate clear understanding of individual role and accountability in managing client briefs and projects.
  • To maintain excellent standards of customer service with both internal (other Taylist departments) and external clients.
  • Provide professional, accurate, timely and full feedback on performance against objectives, leads, marketplace feedback, forecasting, prospects, and all new initiatives as directed by Sales Manager.
  • To take personal responsibility and accountability for all forms of communication both internally and externally. All communication should be appropriate, professional, and demonstrative of the highest standards.
  • To take responsibility for personal development to consistently improve your knowledge, skills, and expertise to take into account the ever-changing media landscape. In turn using this to ensure the very highest of standards to clients to sell the products and  services of Taylist Media.

Quality

  • Work closely with the Sales Manager to ensure adherence to the above as well as all Taylist Media values and commercial objectives.
  • Build high levels of trust, rapport, and credibility with each client.
  • Ensure all commercial opportunities are explored, pursued, and pitched consistently to a high standard.
  • Prepare, submit and follow quarterly action plans to work alongside KPI with the overall objective of ensuring allrevenue targets, KPI’s and personal objectives are achieved.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all client contacts.
  • Good, thorough understanding of your clients and their business as well as their marketing activity elsewhere
  • Keeping up to date with our current competitors and what they’re doing within our marketplace.

Commercial

  • Identify product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities and competitors, as well as the client’s needs.
  • Ensure your customer service to all commercial clients is always exemplary.
  • Ensure appropriate and regular contact with your clients through email, phone and face to face.
  • Monitor and plan your sales activity to regularly update the sales manager of both your pipeline and your client forecasts.
  • Take individual responsibility to manage and broaden prospect list and generate target lists that increase the probability of sales from both your individual client lists, competitor activity and industry resources.
  • Give detailed feedback to sales manager as and when required over all areas of responsibility and as directed.
  • Consistently looking to achieve the lion share of the client’s budget against our competitors with a tenacious yet respectful approach to get the most from each one to include both marketshare and upsell opportunities.
  • Dealing effectively with the questions, concerns and objections from clients and retaining their interest
  • Advocate and promote exemplary commercial awareness as both an individual and within the wider company.
  • Personally develop a solid and evolving digital knowledge to successfully further commercial opportunities over all of Taylist’s digital platforms.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic based on a hands-on approach to embrace change and new ideas across Taylist Media striving to further all commercial objectives both internally and externally.

Skills Required

  • Digital savvy, with a solid understanding of brand growth and promotion through digital activity and social media
  • Builds relationships with clients at all levels and continually looks to identify all opportunities to gain revenue – including upselling, cross-selling and pursuit of marketshare gains.
  • Analyses customer beahvaior and adapts own behavious to provide excellent customer service and knowledge of our products and their business
  • Demonstrates excellent sales and negotiation skills with a proven and ongoing track record of success.
  • Confident, appropriate, and personable, on the phone, face to face and via email modifying personal style to suit the situation.
  • Determined, tenacious and willing to always persevere, with a ‘can do’ attitude and a common-sense approach..
  • Eager to meet and exceed targets.
  • Works effectively within tight timescales to ensure that all deadlines are met
  • Shows individual initiative and is also a strong team player, taking ownership and accepting accountabilities for all tasks.

  • IT literate – the ability to demonstrate digital products to clients and self-sufficiently use and supply all internal requirements as directed.
  • Demonstrates reliability 
  • Comprehensive, up to date and in-depth knowledge of all Taylist products and platforms and independently be able to interpret adapt and communicate to clients.
  • Identifies sales opportunities within the thinking and planning process
  • Provides clear and timely information to customers and sales team

Internal

  • Sales Manager – keeping him informed of key developments, performance and other updates
  • Editorial team – effective communication on clients and all relevant commercial updates to increase understanding and collaboration in the pursuit of Taylist Media commercial objectives and quality standards
  • Sales Team – establishing effective communication in pursuit of all revenue targets and contributing to results as needed
  • Design team – an effective working relationship to ensure any requirements are met on an ongoing basis
  • Production department – working to deadlines and keeping a productive two-way communication regarding all commercial sales needs
  • Accounts department – keep up-to-date with invoices and deal with any accounts queries

External

  • Clients – developing the strongest relationships for maximum commercial advantage and brand recognition across both current clients and potential clients
  • Clients – maintaining and developing strong relationships to maintain, raise and increase both the visibility and profile of Taylist Media brands across the sector
  • Agencies – developing the strongest relationships for maximum commercial advantage and brand recognition across active agencies
