Specscart is a Manchester-born eyewear startup. We opened our first store in Walkden Town Centre by winning The Albert Gubay award 2017.
We embarked with an idea to change the eye-wear industry in the UK. The market here has made it difficult to replace glasses and to own multiple pairs. This over expensive nature has made our most intimate accessory into a mere instrument of sight correction. At this price, why would someone keep 10 pairs?
We got our second push when we won the Venture Further Awards in 2018. It enabled us to open our lab right here in the UK, resulting in turnaround time less than a day for most orders.
Specscart believes that a mandatory change is now needed in the market. That's the main purpose for our existence. We want to change eye-wear from being just an instrument of sight correction to a fast moving fashionable accessory. With 3 stores and an e-commerce website shipping worldwide, we are well on that path.
