It’s a story that began in 1775, when Jonathan Mappin opened a silver workshop in Sheffield, before being given the Freedom of the ‘Cutlers Company of Hallamshire’ in 1780, to provide jurisdiction over local makers and promote the city as a place of expertise.
Over the years that followed, the company continued to expand. Receiving Royal Warrants, commissions from monarchs around the world, and proudly becoming the home of The Crown Jeweller.
