Role Overview:

We are seeking a Weekend Maintenance Engineer to join our client's dynamic team and take responsibility for maintaining and repairing machinery at a food manufacturing facility based in Scunthorpe. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our client's production processes run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the delivery of top-quality products to their customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery including peelers, Multivac, boxing machines, metal detectors, and weigh checkers.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with machinery to minimise downtime and ensure continuous production.
  • Work independently and make quick and effective decisions to address any equipment failures or malfunctions.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all health and safety regulations, including HACCP standards.
  • Provide support during weekend shifts (6-2 or 2-10) and be available to cover holidays during the week as required.
  • Collaborate with shift supervisors to optimise production processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • HACCP training and understanding of food safety regulations are advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure, making decisions quickly and effectively.
  • Flexibility to work weekend shifts and cover holidays during the week.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
