Job Description:


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Trading Assistant to join our team at Butler Investment Managers Limited, a UK FCA regulated investment manager.

As a Trading Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the trading activities of our firm.

Your primary responsibilities will include booking trades, reconciling cash flows, covering the trading workflow when the senior trader is absent, and liaising with front desk trading counterparties.



Responsibilities:


- Book trades accurately and efficiently, ensuring all necessary details are recorded correctly.


- Reconcile cash flows and ensure accurate reporting of trading activities.


- Assist in covering the trading workflow during the senior trader's absence, ensuring seamless continuity in trading operations.


- Collaborate and communicate effectively with front desk trading counterparties, and the internal operations team.


- Provide support in trade execution and optimization strategies.


- Assist in the preparation of end of day trading and risk reports, presentations, and other documentation as required.


- Contribute to the development and enhancement of trading systems and processes.


- Maintain a strong attention to detail in all trading-related tasks.


- Work efficiently under pressure, meeting tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.


- Stay updated with market trends, financial news, and regulatory changes relevant to trading activities.




Requirements:


- 2-3 years of experience in the buy-side or sell-side industry, preferably in a similar role.


- Strong knowledge of credit products, including Corporate Bonds, CDS, and other related financial instruments.


- Proficiency in VBA/Python programming for automating trading processes and data analysis are an advantage.


- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.


- A keen eye for detail, ensuring accurate and error-free trade bookings and reconciliations.


- Ability to work under pressure and handle time-sensitive tasks with efficiency and professionalism.


- Familiarity with FCA regulations and compliance requirements for investment managers.


- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues independently and promptly.


- Proactive mindset and ability to take initiative in improving trading operations and processes.
