Central is currently recruiting for a Support Officer, to work in the Hackney area.

The service provides high support to those with mental health and forensic mental health with the aim of moving them on to lower support accommodation or independent living.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.

5 hours per week, working across Monday – Sunday, on a rota basis covering early (9AM – 6PM), late (1PM – 9:30PM) and sleep in shifts.

For the sleep in shifts; you’ll work a late shift (1PM – 11PM), sleep (11PM – 8AM) and then work an early (8AM – 3PM) shift.

There is one sleep in shift per week.

Temporary cover is required for approximately 1 - 3 months.

The pay rate for this role is £14.

02 per hour, with £1.

76 holiday pay, totalling £15.

78 per hour.

In this position, you will be expected to; * Hold a caseload of 3 - 4 key clients and undertake regular key working sessions resulting in agreed SMART Support Plans and Move On Plans * Organise and carry out regular planned reviews of support and risk plans, or following an incident/significant change in a customer’s circumstances * Facilitate the referral process into the service and assess potential new customers * Identify and promote opportunities for employment, education and training and support customers to remove barriers to accessing these opportunities * Signpost customers to appropriate external support services, including interventions such as food banks and other community resources * Support customers to be ‘tenancy ready’ to enable successful move on * Support customers to be financially independent through budgeting plans and maximising income * Support and monitor customers’ healthcare needs, ensuring appropriate contact with healthcare professionals * Empower customers to move towards self-management of their medication by following the medication procedure and supervising medication administration * Contribute to the delivery of a housing management service, including income collection and providing customers with tenancy-related support * Work with customers to maintain a safe environment by reporting repairs and health and safety concerns * Clean and prepare rooms as appropriate * Resolve difficult and challenging situations in a sensitive and informed way, balancing the needs of the individual with responsibilities for the safety of the service * Ensure the safety of customers by following local safeguarding procedures, recognizing and acting on any significant risk and escalating appropriatelyTo apply for this role, you must have; * Experience of working with high support mental health and forensic mental health in a care and support environment * Knowledge of Psychological or Trauma Informed approaches to support * Experience of holding a caseload, conducting support plans, risk assessments and needs assessments * Experience of working in challenging environments with the ability to plan, prioritise, organise tasks to achieve results * Knowledge of current benefit systems and housing sector knowledge including housing benefit applications * Good communication skills and the ability to engage with and respect the needs of vulnerable people * Competent administrative and IT skills (to be able to produce reports and other communications)Further requirements:In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria: * Current valid right to work in the UK * Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise) * A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £50) * Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing processHow to apply:If you feel that you fully meet the above outlined criteria for this role and would like apply for this post, please forward your CV for consideration.
