The Advocate will provide advocacy, advisory and drafting services to Keoghs LLP.

Full training will be provided by senior members of the team.

The role is based in Liverpool office but may require travel to Manchester and Bolton offices as required.

We are open to candidates on a part time basis on 3 or 4 days per week and are flexible on hours.


Key Accountabilities


• Undertake advocacy, drafting and advisory work; including but not limited to: pleadings, interlocutory hearings, small claims, fast track trials, sanctions (including private prosecution) and recoveries.


• Assisting more senior members of the team in the delivery of the above.


• Assist in delivering advocacy and litigation training / updates for fee earners.


• Assist in supervision / mentoring of Band One Advocates.


• Undertake client facing, product development tasks as required.


Assist in the development of the in house advocacy team.


Standard Working Hours


35 hours per week


Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch.


Primary location for this role is Liverpool


Essential Skills and Attributes:


• Full practising certificate (if Barrister)


• Higher Rights of Audience (if solicitor)


• Enthusiasm to develop advocacy career.


• Experience in insurance fraud; general PI; EL/PL and/or professional negligence


• Qualified Solicitor or equivalent


• Enthusiasm to develop advocacy career.


• Experience in insurance fraud; general PI; EL/PL and/or professional negligence an advantage.


• Ability to communicate in writing and prepare succinct and concise reports


• Tenacious and self motivated
