Senior Transport Planner General Haulage Burnley, Lancashire £34,000 - £40,000 (flexible depending on experience) I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a large transport business who specialise within pallet network & general haulage.They are seeking a Senior Transport Planner to support the current transport operation in the management of the compliance & planning.The Candidate;Transport route planning experiencePrevious experience of working in a general haulage or pallet network operationExperience of working within a busy transport officeHave a dynamic approach to solve resource and planning resolution/ modificationsICT literateHave a basic understanding of Large Goods Vehicles (weights, dimensions and terminology)A good geographic knowledgeA proactive approach to continual professional developmentAn excellent team player, able to work on own initiative and make decisionsAn effective communicatorA positive attitude towards customer service and continuous improvementAbility to question, challenge and improve upon existing processesDuties and Responsibilities;Review driver routes and plan to maximise efficiencyKeep all customers informed of all failed services or significant delaysProvide the communication link between customers and driversSupervising and managing driver workloadsManaging your driver’s daily activities in line with the Working Time Directive and Driving hours.Planning vehicles around requests, challenges and changesMonitoring customer requests, allocating jobs and issuing instructionsKeeping up to date with transport issues and dealing with changes to the days schedulesCommunicate fleet availability and issues to the whole teamLiaising with drivers and colleagues to ensure on time deliveriesPre-brief and de-brief drivers on their daily runs throughout the dayTroubleshooting critical transport related issues as they arise in a live environmentIf you have Transport Planner experience and would like to be considered for this opportunity, please apply via the link.At Aspion, our core values have been built around the importance of transparency, innovation, passion and collaboration.
